Day 119-120 - 28 to 29 April 2012

Hello!

This week-end has been drizzly and grey. Actually, it has not been drizzly, it has poured down rain constantly. Our pool, which was in need of a top-up, is now overflowing. This is ridiculous! With the start of Autumn, we are theoretically supposed to be entering our dry season. Maybe May will be the start of the dry...

Day 119, 28 April 2012 - 1pm
1pm is the end of my little girl's ballet lesson, so that is where I was.
Not a bad 1st position for a 4 year old. She also had her arms and hands in position for the photo. :-)

Day 120, 29 April 2012 - Circle
I WAS going to take a photo of the pizza I made for dinner tonight. BUT, it was eaten before I remembered! So I took a photo of a card that I made today, instead.

I have a couple of other photos I want to share. In fact, at some stage I need to put these into a collage, as I have about 50 photos of my daughter having the time of her life in a mud puddle in our backyard. Yes, this is the ballerina. She has fun in the mud, too. :-)

Ah, she cracked us up with her antics.

:-)

Day 117 - 118 - 26 to 27 April 2012

Hello!

Day 117 - 26 April 2012 - Black and White
Today Coco went for her pre-Winter clip. She was trimmed nice and short so that she can last a little longer through the cold months. She is feeling it. I've never seen her curl up in a ball more often. :-) She came back from the groomer with a pirate bandanna. My girls think the groomer forgot she was a girl.

Day 118 - 27 April 2012 - Somewhere I went
Today the family went to watch the big girl run in her school cross country race. She ran hard. She ended with a great placing. She demonstrated persistence and resilience. We are all very proud of her.

Day 116 - 25 April 2012 - Lest we forget

Hello!

Today in Australia and New Zealand it is ANZAC Day. It is a day where we all stop to remember those who have served and died in wars to protect us and our way of life. I think ANZAC Day is probably our biggest national holiday, maybe even bigger than (or maybe equal to) Australia Day.

If you want to learn some more about ANZAC Day, the Australian War Memorial site is a good place to start.
This morning I took my girls, and the dog, for a walk down to our community ANZAC Day ceremony. All of the local ex-servicemen and women, the local schools, scouts and guides, CWAs (country womens' associations), Rotary club, etc. all marched down the hill towards our local cenotaph, which sits in the shopping centre carpark (thankfully emptied of cars today). There were two marching bands - one at the front of the march, and one bringing up the rear. I think most of our community were either marching, or supporting from the sidelines. As always, the speakers had me all choked up with emotion.

Lest we forget.

Days 114 - 115 - 23 to 24 April 2012

Hello!

Day 114, 23 April 2012 - Vegetable
Mmmm, bok choy, yum! I absolutely love my green leafy veges. Unfortunately, my kids pull out the "green stringy bits" from their food, LOL!

And a photo of Wharf Street in Brisbane.

Day 115, 24 April 2012 - Something I'm grateful for
I am grateful for my children. My little girl is wearing the poppy she made at kindy for ANZAC day, as well as her chef hat she made at kindy before they made pancakes. I think they made ANZAC biscuits also.

Days 111-113 - 20 to 22 April

Hello!

Woo hoo! Caught up!

Day 111, 20 April 2012, Something I drew
I'm not an artist. I'd like to be. But I'm not, yet. I could have drawn a stick figure and been done with it. I decided that I would try to draw "something". So while my little one was at swimming lesson I played around trying to draw a lotus flower.  I have drawn a few more since this one, and they are getting better.
Then I decided I would draw another and colour it. Not so great, but worth the practice.
And then my 4 year old wanted to do one of her own. After trying for herself, she asked me to draw the flower for her to colour. I think she did a great job.

Day 112, 21 April 2012, Bottle
We had another beautiful sunset. As I passed the war memorial, the traffic stopped long enough for me to take ONE photo.

Day 113, 22 April 2012, The last thing I bought
Other than the groceries, I haven't bought much lately. I did recently get a few stamps and dies (my indulgence).

Day 109-110 - 18 to 19 April 2012

Hello!

Day 109 - 18 April 2012
The theme for Day 109, 18 April, was Hair. I made it home from Cairns just in time for bedtime and brushing my daughter's hair.
Happy Mummy and happy kid.

Day 110 - 19 April 2012 - theme: Orange
I love my orange photo, LOL!

This day was another crazy cloud day. Amazing autumn skies.
And a crazy dog, too.

Days 107-108 - 16 to 17 April 2012

Hello!

I'm playing catch up! I went away for work this week, and everything else fell behind.

Day 107 - 16 April 2012
The April Photo a Day theme was flower. I captured this bougainvillea while I walked to the train station in the morning.
I also saw some amazing clouds that day.
And a beautiful sunset.

Day 108 - 17 April 2012
I travelled to Cairns on an early morning flight. The theme for the day was Something I don't like. I didn't like leaving my family for work.
Brisbane Airport:
In the air:
Cairns International Airport:
Cairns Esplanade at sunset.
My hotel room:
The room and bed were huge. I stayed at the Holiday Inn. I'd recommend it. Let's take a closer look at those pillows.

Ooh, and to my delight, the "soft" version were feather pillows! I miss my featherdown pillow when I travel, so this made me feel right at home.

Day 106 - 15 April 2012 - Sunset, haha!

Hello!

Day 15 of April Photo a Day theme is Sunset. I think that was a bit of a joke on me... when you think sunset, you think beautiful colours in the sky. Today's sunset looked like this.
Mmmm, grey and wet... no colours at all.  That is because all day it was like this.
Yes, pouring rain.  Some trees look pretty in the rain.
We spent the day indoors. I made cards, and amused myself with the dog.
She doesn't really fit under that couch.

Day 105 - 14 April 2012 - How I feel today

Hello!

Day 14 of April Photo a Day has the theme How You Feel Today. Well this was a good day to ask, because I felt...
Why? Because my good friend from university days (long, long ago) was up from Newcastle visiting the Gold Coast. We got to spend all afternoon and evening together. We could have talked non-stop forever, but we stopped to be kind to the children, LOL!

While I was down there, I took my promised "foot" photo for the Twenty-Twelve in Photos ladies. I even had colourful toenails for the occasion.
That's my kids swimming in the pool.

And one more.
I love how the light is sparkling and the water splashing as my little girl plays in the pool.

:-)

Day 104 - 13 April 2012 - Something I found

Hello!

Day 13 of April Photo a Day theme was Something You Found. It could have been anything. I found my little munchkin all rugged up watching Finding Nemo on my computer.
She looked so cute, I couldn't resist taking a photo.

Then along came this one.
Coco, my spoodle (cockapoo). She wanted to know what I was doing with that phone.
