Day 97 - 6 April 2012 - Lunch and the Full Moon

Hello!

Day 97 and the Photo a Day April theme was lunch.
I'm sure it doesn't look as good as it tasted, LOL! This is scrambled eggs on toast. I always make my scrambled eggs with onion, tomato, ham, and cheese. Like a scrambled omelette. It was delicious.

Late last night I realised that the moon was AMAZING. Full moon. It took me several photos before I got a half-decent shot. I played with shutter speed, ISO, and aperture, all while hanging halfway out my bedroom window and twisting to look straight up above me.  This is what I got.
It looks black and white, doesn't it? It is a full-colour photo. There was an amazingly clear sky and the moon was so bright I had to use ISO100 and a fast shutter to get ANY detail in the photo.

I'm pleased I caught the full moon, and that it was a clear night. Next month I'll try to remember to look for it as it rises, instead of discovering it right overhead late at night.

Day 62 - 2 March 2012

Hello!

You know what? I'm amazed at how well I am going with this daily photo challenge. I had my doubts if I would even make it this far. Taking a photo everyday is quite a challenge! I am having so much fun with it. I have missed a couple of days here and there, but not many, and I'm okay with that.

Day 62 I came back into my garden. The daily photo is of a spider. I don't know for certain what type of spider it is, but I believe it is a Golden Orb. We have them everywhere around here. They are quite large. They don't worry me, other than their huge webs being all over the yard. I'm always walking into the webs, ugh! (I don't like that sticky web feeling all over my face and  head).
This spider was attached to this pretty plant.

Today's added bonus is some night time shots. These are the shots I wanted to take for Carly Robertson's Photo Friday challenge two weeks ago. Two weeks ago the sky was cloudy all week. Last night I was bringing the washing in when I noticed a clear sky. By the time I ran in to get my camera and tripod and got back out, the clouds had started coming over, but I still got a few photos.
Washing line on the left, house on the right, my frangipani and the neighbour's palms along the bottom of the shot. The Southern Cross is under that cloud in the middle of the frame.

Patience won out, and I caught the Southern Cross as the clouds moved around the sky:

Day 38 - 7 February 2012

Hello!

Today on my way home from work, there was a storm brewing. It was about 5.15pm. I didn't even think I'd make it to my car before it burst. When I did get in my car, I left the window down to be able to catch any photo that might appear on my drive home (if I was stopped at the lights, not driving along). There I was sitting at the lights, the first drops were just starting, and I hung the camera out the window and caught this.
Then I had to wind the window up to avoid the downpour.

Day 37 - 6 February 2012

Hello!

On Day 37 my girls and I stood out on the front balcony and enjoyed the sunset.
It was so pretty. Really subtle colours, not the usual bright orange sunsets I usually capture.

While I was out there, I took a few photos of the moon. They turned out okay. :-)
I need a bigger ZOOM.

Day 35 - 4 February 2012

Hello!

I arrived home after a night out with my stamping friends, making cards, and realised I still didn't have my daily photo. So this is the night sky at home when I got out of my car.  I'm not sure you can see much in this photo. The moon is peeking through our leopard tree.
I think that is Orion in there. I tried to get the Southern Cross for you, but it ended up fuzzy. I'll try that another night.

Day 16 - 16 January 2012

Hello!

What do you do when you're lying in bed, about to fall asleep, and you realise you haven't taken any photos today? You jump out of bed (of course!), grab the camera, look out the window of the bedroom, and CLICK!  there's the photo, LOL!  It was raining last night, so the picture is slightly interesting with the reflections in the dark.

Tonight I know that I haven't taken my photo for the day yet (such are the days where I work long hours and forget to take my camera to work with me). I still have three hours to capture something...

Here is my photo for Day 16:
The light is coming from our front porch, the street lights, and through the cracks around our garage doors(that's the lines of light you see on our bushes).

See you tomorrow with Day 17.
