Hello!
Day 161, 9 June 2012 - My View
I spent the morning at the inter-school netball carnival with my daughter. She played four games and had a wonderful time. This photo was looking back over the playing fields, towards the sun. It was funny weather, cold one second, hot the next, cloudy and sunny all at once. The sun is that bright patch in the middle of the cloud. ;-)
Day 162, 10 June 2012 - The best part of the week-end
What a great theme for today. Today was the annual Brisbane Papercrafting Expo at the Brisbane Convention Centre. And it certainly was a highlight of my week-end. I bought myself an OTT light, so I can set up my crafty corner in the {dark} rumpus room and move off the dining room table. I bought some new Hero Arts background stamps {yay!} and a few other little bits and pieces. The highlight, though, was to see Tim Holtz demonstrating his products. In particular, he was working with alcohol inks. He's fantastic! I learned heaps and also developed a massive desire for a full set of alcohol inks {oh dear!}. Here he is.
I like this photo for all the colour and product, but I thought it was a bit "clean" for Tim Holtz, so I edited it a little.
There we go, that's better, more grungy!
:-)

Days 142 - 144, 21 - 23 May 2012: Canberra
Hello!
I traveled to Canberra for work this week. It was a bit chilly down there. I survived. Lucky I own a woolen overcoat.
On my flight down, I saw this:
It was late afternoon. The clouds were very interesting for the whole trip. I loved these wispy ones. This was getting close to Canberra and I was about to switch my phone off again.
Driving from the airport to my hotel, I saw this:
It was such a pretty sunset. When we drove past the Australian War Memorial, I saw about 10 photographers lined up on the steps with their cameras looking back towards Parliament House. They would have got some awesome shots this evening, the light was magical.
Day 142, 21 May 2012 - Where I stand
Where I stood was in my hotel room, out of my shoes, and about to unpack my bag.
Day 143, 22 May, the theme was PINK. There wasn't any pink to be found this day. I was in a work conference all day and at a work dinner all night. What I did find was FROST, on the car, in the morning.
That slowed us down getting out of the carpark on our way to breakfast. :-) It was about 2 degrees celcius (35F) by 8am.
Day 144, 23 May 2012 - Technology
Before I get to my technology shot, here is a little view of Civic in Canberra.
Most of the trees had lost most of their leaves already. Winter is only a few days away!
And here is my technology photo, at the airport on my way home.
The tarmac. Oh, the sunset was gorgeous. I was itching to get outside and check it out, but I would have missed my plane!
And here is a tiny taste of the awesome sunset. Unedited pic from my iPhone.
Those two little specks of light are the moon (above) and Venus. Pretty hard to capture on an iPhone, and my camera couldn't cope with the reflections on the plane window. I had my phone pressed against the window to get this one. That line at the bottom of the picture is the plane engine.
I hope you enjoyed my little work trip.
:-)

Before I get to my technology shot, here is a little view of Civic in Canberra.
I love these buildings. They have such straight lines and feel so ultra-modern, stark almost. But the streets are clean and quiet, and there are trees. In summer they have gorgeous flower pots hanging along the street.
And here is my technology photo, at the airport on my way home.

Day 109-110 - 18 to 19 April 2012
Hello!
Day 109 - 18 April 2012
The theme for Day 109, 18 April, was Hair. I made it home from Cairns just in time for bedtime and brushing my daughter's hair.
Happy Mummy and happy kid.
Day 110 - 19 April 2012 - theme: Orange
I love my orange photo, LOL!
This day was another crazy cloud day. Amazing autumn skies.
And a crazy dog, too.

Day 54 - 23 February 2012
Hello!
Today's photo is one of our many magpies that live in our front yard.
He's all puffed up, he must have been feeling slightly chilly. :-) I just noticed he only had one leg down, too. Maybe he only has one leg?
One day, in the far away future, we will renovate our roof. I'll have to remember to send people back to look at this photo to remember how bad is really was, LOL! Our roof is actually "white", but the white has worn off most of it over the past 37 years of its existence. Just one of the many renovation projects we have on our list...
Two other photos, because I can't resist sharing our amazing clouds and sunsets lately. First the sunset photo. I got lots of these. Spectacular colours and clouds. No editing again on the sunset, I can't improve them.
Doesn't this cloudy sky look fake? If you painted it, people would tell you it didn't look real.
I did edit the clouds - just changed the levels a bit, if I remember correctly.
:-)

Day 52 - 21 February 2012
Hello,
Still on the theme of the weather and the sky. Day 52 brought us the most spectacular sunset. I watched it for ages, and took quite a few photographs. The colours were more vivid than I've captured. Again, I can't work out how to edit to make them look more like they were. Totally beautiful.
After this sunset, there was a massive storm on the horizon, lightning flashing across the night sky, fantastic to watch. We couldn't hear any of the thunder from here, but we could see it was a doozy!

Day 51 - 20 February 2012
Hello!
On Day 51 we had some amazing cloud formations. I had to take a photo to show you all. I haven't edited these ones, as I can't work out how to edit them and make them look better (admitting what I've still yet to learn).
This top one is more what they actually looked like.
This next one shows what they looked like in comparison to everything around them.
I wish I had known how to photograph this better. I stood out there looking at these clouds for ages, they were so interesting.
:-)
