Days 6 & 7 - 6&7 January 2015

Hello!

6 January:
I had a mole excision from my face on Tuesday. I'm a big sook and didn't like the anaesthetic. It was almost as bad as the dentist, lol!
No art this day. I did have a marathon session making cards, though. :-)

7 January:
The prompt was "currently reading". A few weeks back I found a pile of books by my Mum's front door that was destined for the church charity sale. I picked through and brought some on a detour via my place. They will still end up at the church, once I've read them. ;-). I've been reading on my Kindle. It's funny reading real books again.
I thought I was out of time for art, but just before bedtime I was struck by inspiration. This is drawn using Pitt pens. It's on an A4 page.
I love this style and want to explore it further.

See you soon!

Days 136 - 138, 15 - 17 May 2012: Love, Book, Snack

Hello!

Day 136, 15 May 2012 - Love
I met my husband 19 years ago. We became friends. Then we started dating. Then we moved in together. Then we got married. Then we had kids. Our love continues to grow.

Day 137, 16 May 2012 - What I am reading
The Time Traveler's Wife is a great read. It is taking some concentration, though. I keep getting a little lost and having to read back to see where I am up to!
What I like about this photo is that it was taken on my lap, sitting at the train station. I really like how it turned out. :-)

Day 138, 17 May 2012 - Snack
I don't really snack, so this was a challenging photo to find. I decided at the end of the day to have a hot milo before bed, and added a few sneaky marshmallows, and I remembered to take a photo.

Day 86 - 26 March 2012

Hello!

Day 86 saw me at the end of the day without a photo, again! But, lucky for me, I am onto a new book. :-)
I haven't read any Faye Kellerman before. I am really enjoying this one. It's a good police detective novel. I might go back to the beginning of the series and get to know it.

Day 79 - 19 March 2012 - books

Hello!

For Day 79 I have another book to share.

Before I show you, I'll talk about another book. I skipped one of my books by accident. I read it so fast that it was back in the library before I took a photo of it, LOL! That one was one of the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris, Dead Reckoning, that's book number 11 in the series, and unfortunately I now have to wait for the next one to be published. Argh! I am very impatient when I'm in the middle of a series and the author hasn't brought out their superpowers to finish the entire series as fast as I can read it, LOL! In case you don't know, the Sookie Stackhouse series is the basis for the True Blood tv series (which I have only watched the first series of, and can't watch it easily because it is totally R-rated and my kids need to be deeply asleep or out of the house for me to turn it on). The books are a great fun, easy read (if you don't mind vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, and faeries, among other things). Since I've caught up with Charlaine on her Sookie Stackhouse books, I'm going to start on her Harper Connelly series while I wait for the next one. :-)

Before I talk more about books (I really could go on forever when books are the subject), I'll show you my photo.
This is the third book in the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson. The main character is a female homicide detective (now lieutenant). I really enjoy James Patterson (I loved his Alex Cross novels), but I have a bit of a bugbear about the fact that once he's written one or two of a series, he then brings in other writers. It changes the feel of the books slightly and detracts a bit from my enjoyment. I'm still reading them, because they are good entertainment, but I don't get "hooked" on the series' as a result.

Now onto my current top reading wishlist item. The Hunger Games trilogy. I want to read the books before I see the movie (if I even see the movie). I went to the library and put the first book on hold. I'm number 348 on the hold list. At this rate, it might be available to me in 2016, LOL! I heard on the radio this morning that Big W is putting the books on sale today for about $10 each. It might be worth buying them to avoid the waiting... and if I'm buying them I might just pop off to Book Depository and save myself the trip to the shops... decisions, decisions...

Thanks for popping by to visit.

Day 48 - 17 February 2012

Hello!

Day 48 found me at the end of another day where I had not taken a photo yet. So it is another photo of my bedtime reading.
Have you read this book? My brother left it behind when he visited at Christmas, and I am cursing him! From very early on in this book I started dreaming of moving to Tuscany. Now instead of my original retirement dream of caravanning around Australia, I am thinking we might like to move to Italy for a little while, LOL!

I have family in Italy. My aunty married an Italian about 50 years ago and moved to Tuscany. She's still there, as are my cousins and their families. My Dad married an Italian, so I have an Italian step-mother and step-sisters. My Dad and step-mother run a Bed and Breakfast in Tuscany. Dad lives there 6 - 8 months each year. We stayed with them for a month several years ago when they were renovating. I loved it. I really could immerse myself into Tuscan life. I really don't think I should be reading this book, it's encouraging me too much!

Day 34 - 3 February 2012

Hello!

Day 34 was another day where I raced around all day, and didn't get a photo taken until right at bedtime. This photo is my bedtime reading for that day.
I like Tara Moss' novels. Easy, light, and fun, just what I want at the end of a busy day.
